In the 10 years that La Cafamore has been performing in the Kootenays, they have experimented with different classical music styles, Non-traditional composers and a variety of ensemble combinations. For the 10th anniversary tour, the group consisting of Angela Snyder (violin, viola), Alexis More (viola) and Carolyn Cameron (piano, violin) reunite with Kootenay-grown pianist Nina Horvath who now calls Vancouver home. To complete the ensemble, Alexis has recruited Victoria based cellist Maria Wang. What better piece to play than Dvorak’s piano quintet Op. 81? To top off the concert, Angela Snyder will take to viola to play Mozart’s Sinfonia concertante with her sister Carolyn on violin. Mozart is the most requested composer from La Cafamore’s audience and this delightful double concerto will be sure to satisfy the most dedicated Mozartophiles.
