Ivan Coyote with opener: Smokii Sumac
November 13, 2024 at 7:30 pm
Tickets: Regular $35 | Big Ticket Members $29 | Big Ticket Plus Members $25 | Students $10
Show is for 13 years of age and above
About the show:
Writer and performer Ivan Coyote has crafted a playlist of stories that sing to us about how they managed to discover a coded but very possible queer future hidden in the music coming out of the AM radio in the kitchen, lurking in their parent’s record collection, and leaking out of the lyrics in their elementary school musical. Combining Coyote’s equal parts hilarious and heartbreaking stories with long-time collaborator Clyde Petersen’s animations, Playlist will have you hitting rewind on your own list of songs that helped shape you.
About Smokii Sumac:
Smokii Sumac (he/they) is a Ktunaxa two spirit poet, podcast host, and emerging playwright. Their first book, you are enough: love poems for the end of the world won an Indigenous Voices Award, and he is currently completing a second manuscript forthcoming with Fernwood/Roseway titled Born Sacred: Poems for Palestine.
